What Areas Can Be Treated?

1.  Lips

One of the most popular treatment areas for people of all ages is the lips. Lip fillers have given us the ability to fill fine lines, plump and improve balance for uneven lips like nothing available in the past. Lip injections are often a 1st step for many people considering facial injectables.

2.  Cheeks

3.  Chin

4.  Nasolabial folds

5.   Under eye

6.   Marionette lines

7.   Jaw line

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are facial injectables, most commonly containing hyaluronic acid, which helps to fill facial lines or restore volume lost in areas like the cheeks and lips. Hyaluronic acid is injected under the skin at various depths with fine needles or cannulas. The results typically last 6 to 18 months before a touch-up is needed.

Dermal fillers are becoming more popular each year as the cosmetic industry makes greater varieties available at lower price points than ever before. They provide instant, impressive results to smooth wrinkles and add volume where patients want it.

How do Dermal Fillers Work?

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is an amazing and fundamental molecule involved in the maintenance of our skin's moisture content through its ability to attract and hold water. HA is naturally present in our skin, joints, cartilage and brain tissue.

Dermal fillers can help add volume on the face for patients of all ages. Common treatment areas include but are not limited to: under eyes, lips, cheeks, chin, jawline, nasolabial folds (laugh lines) and marionette lines (bottom corners of the mouth). HA fillers can even improve the appearance of the neck and backs of hands. HA is naturally absorbed by the body over time. This is one of the reasons this filler type is such a widely used cosmetic tool.

Neuromodulators: Dysport/Xeomin/ Botox

Neuromodulators are injectable substances made of botulinum toxin, which can temporarily block signals sent from nerves to facial muscles. One way to treat unwanted forehead lines and wrinkles is through reducing forehead muscle movement. Multiple, similar products and approaches may be chosen by you and nurse Nimo to achieve the results you want. To help you determine which wrinkle treatment is right for you, talk to nurse Nimo about similarities and differences between products.

Purpose:  Neuromodulators contain botulinum type A, indicated for cosmetic use.

Safety and Efficacy:  Cosmetic injectables are utilized to temporarily smooth the appearance of facial skin but require repeat treatments to maintain desired results.

Duration of Efficacy:  Most wrinkle treatments last for 3 to 4 months. Regular maintenance can help improve efficacy, meaning that individuals require less product to achieve their desired results over time.

Onset of Effects:  It usually takes 4 to 7 days for the effects of cosmetic injections to be visible. Some products have a faster onset with results appearing in just 2 or 3 days. Ask Nurse Nimo to explain the different treatment types.

Amount of Product Required:  Some wrinkle injections have a more concentrated effect than others. Dosing is extremely precise and personalized for each patient. You and Nurse Nimo may choose to switch products and adjust your treatment details accordingly, to achieve desired results.

Diffusion:  Once injected, some cosmetic injections diffuse more within the treatment area, spreading out over a larger area. This means that when treating a large area, Nurse Nimo may prefer one product over another to achieve desired results with the optimal amount of product.
